Amar Lake
Amar Lake is situated 6 km from Jaisalmer on the way to Lodurva. Maharawal Amar Singh developed this natural spot as a water reservoir in 1688 AD and dams were constructed to hold rainwater. The summer palaces, temples and gardens were developed at various terraces. Towards the southern side of the lake is the finely hewed Jain Temple. Himmat Ram Bafna, the descendant of famous Patwas constructed the temple.
Lodurva
Lodurva is the ancient capital of the Bhatis located 16 km from Jaisalmer. The city is visited for the ruined Jain Temple and the Kalpataru Vriksha, a mythical wish-fulfilling tree.
Sam Sand Dunes
Sam village is located on the edge of the Desert National Park. The sand dunes of the Sam Village are on the edge of the park and are a popular excursion site. It is 42 km from Jaisalmer along a very good sealed road. The place offers picturesque view of the sunrise and sunset. Enjoying a camel safaris at night at the dunes make for a memorable time.
Akal Wood Fossil Park
The Akal Wood Fossil Park is a preserved park in the 21-hectare of area. The visit to the park is bound to take you back to the Jurassic Age when the entire region of Thar was under the sea. Fossilized logs of trees trunks lie in open for the view. The largest log is 7 meters in length and 1.5 meters in width.
