Amer Palace and Fort
Raja Man Singh, Mirza Raja Jai Singh and Sawai Jai Singh constructed the Amer Palace over a period of two centuries. It is inside the massive and impressive Amer Fort. Amer Fort is a beautiful complex of palaces, halls, pavilions, gardens and temples. The palace complex is built around the Maotha Lake and is approached by steep path. Shila Mata Temple is within the palace complex. Shila Mata was the patron of goddess of the ruling clan and Raja Man Singh brought the idol of the goddess from Jessore now in Bangladesh. The Fort was built primarily as a complete city and offered protection to all the King's subjects during any emergency. The steep approach road, deep lake all around, high locations of the fort and its massive walls offered protection to the Palace and the residents of the city.
Govind Devji Temple
Govind Devji Temple is the most popular temple of Jaipur dedicated to Lord Krishna. Located in the central pavilion of the Jai Niwas Garden to the north of Chandra Mahal, it is the only spire less temple. The image of the patron deity, Govind Devji, was brought from a temple of Vrindavan and reinstalled here by Sawai Jai Singh II.
Galtaji
Galtaji is an ancient pilgrimage center fringed by gardens on the low hills. The temples, pavilions and natural spring and reservoirs along with rich landscape make it a perfect venue for picnics. There is a small temple dedicated to the Sun God. Diwan Kriparam built the temple on the top of the highest peak of the city.
Sisodia Rani Garden
Sisodia Rani Garden has tiered multilevel gardens with fountains and water channel. There are also painted pavilions and suites of living rooms. Vidhyadhar-Ka-Bagh is in the best-preserved condition with shady trees, running water, an open pavilion. The chief architect of the city, Vidhyadhar, built it.
