The Fort
Chittorgarh Fort, is situated at the height of 180 m, is a huge structure with quite a few gateways. Later Maurya rulers built the fort in the 7th centrury AD over an area of 700 acres. The buildings of the fort perfectly represent the Rajput architecture of that time. The main gates are Padal Pol, Bhairon Pol, Hanuman Pol and Ram Pol.
Vijay Stambha
The 37 m high structure, Vijay Stambha is also known as the victory Tower. It is a 9-storey structure depicting magnificent sculptures of the Hindu deities and episodes from Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Kirti Stambha
Kirti Stambha is a 22 m high tower dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara. A wealthy Jain merchant had constructed it in 12th century AD and is embellished with icons of Jain pantheon.
Rana Kumbha's Palace
The Palace of Rana Kumbha is a beautiful and interesting structure in Chittor. It is believed that the palace has underground cellars where Rani Padmini and other women committed Jauhar.
Rani Padmini's Palace
Rani Padmini's Palace is built by the side of a pool. This is the palace where Rana Ratan Singh showed a glimpse of queen Padmini to Ala-ud-Din Khilji. Rani Padmini stood in the Zanana Mahal from where her reflection was visible to Ala-ud-Din Khilji in a mirror placed in the main hall.
Kumbha Shyam Temple
Kumbha Shyam Temple was built during the reign of Rana Kumbha. It is built in the Indo-Aryan style and is associated with the mystic poetess Meerabai. Meera was the wife of Prince Bhojraj and an ardent devotee of Krishna.
