Lal Garh Fort
Lal Garh Fort is situated at a distance of 3 km from the city center. The Shri Sadul Museum is housed in the first floor of the palace. The museum was established in 1076 AD. There are good collection of the artifacts and personal possessions of the Maharajas of Bikaner. Most impressive object in the museum is the brass vessel known as a tokna used to collect revenue, which was then transported to the Bikaner state treasury by camel. The Royal Train of the Maharaja is elegantly occupies the front of the palace.
Junagarh Museum
Raja Jai Singh, a General in the Mughal Army of the Emperor Akbar constructed the Junagarh Fort between 1588 and 1593 AD. The massive fort has a 986m-long wall with 37 bastions, a moat and two entrances. The Surajpol or the Sun Gate is the main entrance.
Bhandsar Temple
A wealthy Jain merchant, Bhandasar Oswal, commissioned the Bhandasar Temple, dedicated to the fifth Tirthankar Sumitnath in 1468 AD. It was completed after his death, in 1514 AD. The interior of the temple is decorated with colorful paintings. The pillars are ornamented with floral motifs and stories of the lives of the 24 Jain tirthankars. The locals insist that 40,000 kg of ghee was used instead of water in the mortar, which seeps through the floor on hot days.
Shiva Bari Temple
Shiva Bari Temple is a mere 6 km from the main city of Bikaner. It is a beautifully carved and very neatly finished temple. There is an impressive bronze statue of Nandi and a Shiva lingam.
