Dargah Ajmer Sheriff
Dargah of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, also known as the Dargah Ajmer Sheriff, is situated on the foothill and comprises the old part of town. Humayun completed the construction of the shrine and the Nizam of Hyderabad added the gate. The dargah attracts a huge amount of tourists during the Urs, the death anniversary of the saint.
Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpra Mosque
Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpra is a mosque situated in the outskirts of the Ajmer town. Qutubuddin Aibak built the mosque in 1202AD. There is a local belief that its construction was completed in just 2 and a 1/2 days and thus called by this name. The building was originally construct as a Sanskrit College of Bisaldeb but was converted the building into a mosque.
Taragarh Fort
Taragarh Fort or the Star Fort is 3 km from the Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpra Mosque. Ajaipal Chauhan, the founder of the town, built it. The fort was place was active with military expeditions during the Mughal period. The British later used the fort as a sanatorium.
Ana Sagar Lake
Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake created by damming of the river Luni. Emperor Shah Jahan builds the Daulat Bagh and Subhash Bagh ornamented with a series of marble pavilions on the banks of the river in 1637 AD. There is an island in the center of the lake accessible by boats or water scooter.
