Mewar Festival, Udaipur (March-April)

Urs, Ajmer Sharif (Held according to Lunar calendar)

Celebrated in memory of Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti, the Urs is an important occasion for the Muslims to converge at Ajmer Sharif and pay their respects to Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti. The atmosphere at the holy shrine buzzes with devotional songs (qawalis) and prayers during the festival.

Teej, Jaipur (August)

Though celebrated all over Rajasthan, Teej is quite popular in Jaipur. Teej marks the advent of the monsoon after long and harsh summer season. Celebrated by womenfolk, Teej is the time to make merry and enjoy the festivities. One can see women in their best dresses, as they set out in groups to shop. Swings are an integral part of the Teej festivities.

Marwar Festival, Jodhpur (January-February)

Dedicated to the music and dance of the Marwar region, the Marwar festival is the best time to experience the Marwari culture from closed quarters. The festival is organized by Rajasthan tourism and is a wonderful time to enjoy the cultural festivity of the region.
